AVNU, a program of Tides Canada, works to increase access to knowledge and skill-building opportunities for youth facing marginalization and barriers within mainstream education. The Learning Journey Fund is intended to support the personal and professional development of young people who have moved through AVNU, so that they may continue their self-directed learning pathways and create positive social change in their communities.
Five awards of $1,000 are being provided to support the personal and professional development of youth who have moved through AVNU- those who have attended 3+ workshops with 3+ partners within our collective. This spring AVNU ran it’s first ever Learning Journey Fund application round, and today we would like to proudly announce the winners of these awards:
Zabrina Dacres- photography
Tasneem Dairywala- visual art
Alyssa Fearon- community leadership
Lilian Tang Thai Jones- meditation and mindfulness facilitation
Juan Saavedra- graphic design and advocacy
Thank you to everyone who took the time to apply, and congratulations again to our recipients- we look forward to seeing where your learning journeys take you!
