Paid Position | Community Artist

4 days a week (30 hours) from August 2015 to July 2016
Applicants must be aged 16-29, living in Toronto with a passion for community arts, and currently receiving Ontario Works.
Who is hiring?
The SKETCH Community Arts Program (CAP) is a 1-year intensive training program, arts education internship, artist residency, and Artrepreneurship incubator all rolled into one. This is an opportunity for young artists living on the margins.
Youth with a demonstrated passion for community arts and the following mediums:
– visual arts
– digital media
What you get from this program:
– Trainings in equity, community organizing, facilitation, conflict de-escalation, project planning, outreach, and entrepreneurship
– Write a stellar artist bio, artist statement, CV, business plan, and online artist portfolio-website and get mentorship to build new projects and money making initiatives
– Space, materials, trainings and support to make and exhibit your art
– Building your skills, experience, network and practice as a community artist
